Sweet memories

Memories...sweet memories..
so invaluable, so touchy..
who can ever put a value on those?

Think about those past sweet moments
the happiness starts gushing around
making your present look greener and brighter..

The first drops of the rain
soothing rays of the sunset
calmness of the sea
sweet chirp of the birds
dew on the leaves
fragrance in the air
slow moving skies
humming of bees around flowers
resonance of the wind chimes
chillness of the soft breeze
drown my mind with reminiscences of past gaiety

memories,sweet memories,sweet thoughts
who can ever put a value on those?

Advice, advice and advice:(

This is my first time trying to venture into writing a blog..I know this statement has been done to death in almost every blog but me and my dear hubby have been yearning to start blogging for a long time now. We get motivated especially when we see our close friends blog but the motivation has a very short span of life and it dies down very soon:-)

I think it isn't very hard to write what's going on in your mind onto a piece of paper..I'm indeed indefatigable( yes, I do subscribe to word of the day:-)) and definitely aren't lazy to do some write-up but it's really tough when you realise that you will "probably"( and hopefully) have audience who will read and critique your blog..finally I mustered up courage and spared some time to do this and here I am writing my first blog.whoo!hoo!

The topic that got me inspired when I woke up a bit earlier than usual today was how people love giving advice but hate to be on the other end to receive it.Advice!advice!advice!this is probably something I have been subjected to all my life.In general, parents nurture their kids with their well meant advice all day 24 * 7!!.."don't touch that ,you might get hurt".."eat well , you will grow taller and stronger" etc etc..

As the kids grow older, the advice takes a more serious turn.."behave properly" , "study well and get good scores" ," make sure you have friends who are studious"..on and on..agh!these things used to drive me crazy when I was young. But I always thought that this will all end once I grow up..but it never seemed to..

Even after getting married and being a mom of a 7 month old baby, believe me the saga is still very much in its active phase.Probably after I had my baby , the advice graph has hit an all time high:)..I have been getting all kinds of advice on how to look after the baby from all sections of society - friends/relatives/strangers.I have not been spared even by those who do not know ABC's of looking after babies.I have heard this saying often to trust and listen to people who advise you and not to those who praise you, but come on it does get on your nerves after a while when people start showing "I-know-better-how-to-take-care-of-baby" attitude.I know it's always good to take this all with a pinch of salt ,but it's hard to do so. After being in this situation for a long time now, I'm trying to figure out how to handle this.

for now, I'm just waiting for invention of invisible earplugs!!!!
